When Lenny Kravitz set out on his LLR 20 (09) tour, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut album “Let Love Rule,” he was supported by Somalia-born Canadian hip hop artist K’Naan.
Knowing that Dropcards work well for touring artists, Universal Records used this download campaign as an interesting way to pair the two together. Distributing Dropcards at a live event is a perfect takeaway for fans.
This Dropcard featured one song from each artist and also emphasized their Facebook and Twitter accounts. The download card contained the Kravitz power ballad “I’ll Be Waiting” from his album It Is Time for a Love Revolution and the K’Naan mega-hit “Waving Flag,” which has since been chosen as the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
We created a custom landing page that coordinated with the download card’s design, which is another area we surpass the competition. No generic templates here. Because, really, generic and Lenny Kravitz just don’t go together.
