In order to promote the new movie “Tron: Legacy” and a clothing line inspired by the film, Disney and the clothing brand Hurley partnered and offered the chance to win free movie tickets and other “Tron: Legacy” prizes for qualifying purchases at participating PacSun stores. In this contest, Dropcards were used as a game piece to enter the contest online. Upon visiting a landing page listed on the back of the Dropcard, users completed a form and entered it in an effort to win one of ten prizes, including the grand prize 3-day trip to a Southern California amusement park. This unique use of Dropcards got word out about the film and simultaneously captured valuable consumer data.
