Dropcards are not just for musicians. Download card campaigns can be used to promote nearly everything from books to films to Broadway shows, including the musical Wicked, the Tony Award-winning Broadway and West End musical which tells the untold story of the witches of Oz.
Universal Music Group, in conjunction with Wicked’s marketing company, utilized an imaginative Dropcards campaign to promote the musical and its soundtrack.
The download card contained songs from the soundtrack, and one of the distribution methods was handing the cards out at street events, which is an excellent way to circulate your Dropcards to a wide-ranging audience.
For this campaign, we created and hosted a custom landing page that included links to download exclusive ringtones, purchase the soundtrack and even to buy tickets, which is a great way to extend the reach of a download card campaign and drive traffic to back your product – because there’s no place like home.
